10 Black Friday Scraps That Will Put You Off It Forever

1. Black Friday Cage Fight

Jumping right in with an almost knock-out right hook, this pay per view match becomes a riled-up expression of true bargain hunter emotions in no time. In continues as a three-way cage fight, with some real hard-hitting spearing and slapping. Nobody can tear them apart. A bystander has a clever idea and quite agitated says “Call 911!” Rolling around in a headlock the losing shopper is toiled outside of the cage, but the primary assailant comes out for more! This is a terrible example of how Black Friday can become much more than a fun day for bargain hunting, and more of a short-term GBH sentence or worse.

Bonus. Black Friday Escalator Race

Added Bonus. Let’s end on a light one. Like a rat race the phrase ‘first come first served’ really applies here. These escalators are the arena for what appears to be, not a violent expression of deal hunting passion, but a more sophisticated competition; a race to the top. Towards the end of the clip, only two guys remain, exhausted and weary from the climb. One falls and the other tries to take advantage of the situation, only to end up in the same boat. When they finally both race pats the finish line, the crowd applauds in respect. Enjoy.

While these videos may have been either entertaining or fearfully off-putting, Black Friday is beneficial to the economy and retail sector, but severely damaging to the public’s respect for each other.

In 2008, Black Friday took a true turn for the worst, as in the US a Walmart employee was thrown to the ground and trampled over by hundreds of crazy Black Friday fanatics rushing for a deal. At the Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream, New York, shoppers had been waiting all night to get in, and at 5am the shop finally opened. A taped-up poster read: “Blitz Line Starts Here.” Around 2,000 people were pushing their weight against the glass, banging and screaming, until the entrance collapsed and the crowd could no longer be held back. As the mob scrambled in, Jdimytai Damour, 34, was thrown back and died beneath the stampede of New Yorkers.

This is a reminder that Black Friday has a very dark side to it, and no matter how good a money saving deal may be, it’s not worth the cost of a human life. Please pay attention to staff, be careful and consider those around you this season. If you see any violence report it as soon as possible to your local authorities, and if need be, call emergency services.
